OVERVIEW:

 VICE is currently seeking a Director of Video for Munchies, our food and lifestyle digital channel. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can oversee the creation of video content in the food space in multiple formats. The candidate must have a clear understanding and passion for the Munchies brand online and a long track record of creating innovative video in the food space.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Executes and oversees multi-format video storytelling for the Munchies brand online
• Works closely with video analytics team, editorial site lead, and culinary director to concept and execute video in line with specified goals and KPI’s
• Hires and manages freelancers on site specific projects
• Hones stories at the pitch phase and gives notes on treatments, beat sheets and paper edits
• Works with publisher and sales team to create Munchies video for brands
• Helps concept products and works across crafting expressions of the Munchies brand in a variety of categories: studio, competition, field, and experiential
• Works to identify, develop and recruit new talent both on camera and off
• Develops pitches and creative decks for OTT platforms
• Must be able to keep video delivery on time and on budget
• Oversee all field and in-house production for Munchies
• Oversee all costs of production and post-production

QUALIFICATIONs

• 5+ years of proven experience in production at well regarded cable network/digital brand/production company/or equivalent in food category.
• Proven track record of rapid audience growth on site, youtube and social channels
• Proven track record of executing multi-camera studio shoots
• Knowledge of video product integration, affiliate marketing and experiential
• Experience working with chefs and food stylists
• Knowledge of budgeting and actualizing costs.
• Proven track record of experimentation with new formats
• Must have an understanding of video that works on a variety of social platforms
• Strong editorial professional ethics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Mac computer systems.
• Ability to deal with multiple and changing priorities.
• Experience successfully managing teams.
