MLB Photos is looking for an efficient photo editor to work on updating MLB player headshots and action shots from mid-January through early-April 2020. 

Responsibilities: 

Update player headshots on MLB.com

• Use Photoshop templates to create realistic uniform changes, crop to style guide requirements and update in areas of the site manually through MLB’s CMS and departmental requests in a timely manner.

Update player action shots on MLB.com

• Add team placeholder images for player pages when a player has changed teams. Source and crop new action shots after a player has appeared in Spring Training games. Maintain a record of changes.

Assist in photo editing 2020 MLB team headshots

• Color correct, clean up backgrounds, crop and align files according to predetermined proportions. Ensure accuracy in file naming conventions and organization of thousands of images.

Complete photo research requests

• Use MLB’s archive resources and wire services, where appropriate, to fulfill photo research requests for editorial and sponsorship projects

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Photoshop, including performing actions
• Comfort with navigating an internal CMS and file server
• Familiarity with using wire services such as AP and Getty Images a plus 
• Familiarity with baseball and its players a must
• Excellent communication, ability to coordinate with several departments via multiple avenues (e-mail, Slack) and re-prioritize
• Time Management skills, adhere to fast-paced schedule to complete tasks on tight deadlines
• Organization and documentation skills
• Excellent attention to detail
