BuzzFeed is seeking a New York-based Production Assistant with strong editorial judgement for an upcoming daily show on Snapchat. Successful candidates have experience working on short form or social/digital shows, delivering compelling visual content and executing on a daily show. The ideal producer has a strong command of the entertainment/news/media landscape, the BuzzFeed brand, social media, and trending stories, particularly stories that resonate with Gen Z. Candidates must be detail-oriented, creative thinkers and leaders with an ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The show is daily Monday-Friday. You will work closely with the producer, senior producer, editor and motion graphics designer to assist on shoots and pull required elements.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinating daily shoots including booking space, ensuring all necessary equipment is present
• Running teleprompter during shoots
• Handling any props or other set needs
• Pulling photo/video elements as requested by editor and motion graphics designer
• Working extremely efficiently, understanding tight deadlines, and able to pitch in wherever help is needed

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of production experience, ideally for a digital/social show.
• Knowledge of production world.
• Knowledge of BuzzFeed brand and digital/social media space.
• Strong editorial judgement
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and handle high pressure news/production environments
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and stay organized in a quick turnaround production period
• Ability to shoot and/or knowledge of audio recording a plus
