MLB Pipeline Editorial/Social Producers are responsible for creating, editing and managing prospect and Draft content for MLB Pipeline – MLB.com’s vertical dedicated to coverage of top prospects – including web, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. The position works closely with homepage editors, reporters and analysts to ensure the sites provide users with the most relevant, informative and interesting content possible.

Responsibilities

• Edit and post content for use on MLBPipeline.com., team sites and partner websites
• Update content quickly and accurately
• Write engaging headlines, captions and blurbs
• Manage and update Prospect Watch, MLB Pipeline’s comprehensive rankings of top prospects
• Use social media to promote MLB Pipeline content
• Make judgments on story significance and arrange content into lead packages on the site
• Communicate to ensure that all content is appropriately represented among MLB.com’s sites

Qualifications

• Excellent copy-editing skills
• Consistent availability on nights and weekends
• Experience with content management systems and web publishing
• Thorough knowledge of baseball -- specifically about prospects and the Minor Leagues
• Knowledge of social media and SEO
• Basic HTML and Photoshop skills
• Ability to work well under deadline and in fast-paced situations with multiple responsibilities
• Strong communication, presentation and organization skills
