WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Senior Director of Editorial’s role is to articulate the company’s strategy through compelling storytelling. Whether it’s corporate news, white papers, blog posts, podcasts, executive communications content or social media content, this person will be a compelling writer and storyteller. This leader will manage a small team, often working in a rapid-response newsroom style environment. This leader will be able to build concise and clear argumentation, supported by data, and reflecting contemporary trends and issues in a way that demands the consumer’s attention. This leader would work in concert with the global business and brand leadership to build editorial activations and tactics that support global launches and programs, to help drive ongoing business strategy and interests, and to help develop and propagate key corporate messaging.  The leader and team would work toward setting and defining audience and engagement metrics, and improving results.
This leader will manage a team of 2-3 professionals and work with other key resources globally to drive programs.

  • Set an editorial and content strategy for the company that aligns with the global business and marketing goals.
  • Develop content in all formats including thought leadership papers, blogs, research reports, microsites, social media, corporate news, podcasts etc.
  • Build a newsroom engine that amplifies the impact of editorial content across channels, from executive communications to sales enablement to media relations to social media.
  • Directly produce thought leadership content -- often in a rapid response environment – of high quality, while also building a team to perform at those same high standards.
  • Work with a range of business and marketing leaders in the inception, development and execution of thought leadership programming.
  • Work collaboratively with creative and production partners.
  • Oversee development of proprietary data driven industry reports that add value to industry conversation.
  • Oversee data driven thought pieces and analytics that fuel public relations strategies. Work hand in hand with PR leadership to conceive thought leadership and amplify content.
  • Support editorial leadership agenda working with teams in NY, APAC and EMEA to share knowledge, develop and produce content.
  • Build a world class team of professionals to create, measure and amplify thought leadership content.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • We are looking for a strategic thinker, writer, content creator and editor with 12-15+ years of experience in a combination of Editorial, Content Strategy, Industry Research/Analytics/ Reporting, PR/Journalism, and Content Amplification.
  • Experience working closely with C-Suite executives in the creation and execution of content.
  • Proven experience developing high quality, engaging content in a rapid response newsroom environment, as well as longer-term thought leadership.
  • Proven experience creating and amplifying content across different audiences to drive response and engagement.
  • Proven ability to plan and define research programs and interpret data to craft compelling brand stories.
  • Understanding of the advertising industry and how brands and agencies operate.
  • Broad geographic experience across NA, APAC, EMEA and/or working across global teams and markets, a plus.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work in a fast growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Mix of left/ right brain—able to drive creative ideas/ solutions and analytical content.
  • Substantial experience managing and developing teams.
  • BA/BS required and MA/MS preferred.
