The Role

BuzzFeed Entertainment Group's New York team is looking for a Video Producer with a deep knowledge of black internet culture and entertainment to add to our Cocoa Butter team. You are a creative and resourceful social media junkie who knows about emerging trending stories and memes before they’re big. You've got a strong background in independent video production and thrive on making compelling and shareable videos. You're fluent in social media and have advanced experience in content creation for social, especially Facebook and Instagram. We’re looking for someone who genuinely believes the internet and social media platforms are amazing places full of creative, hilarious people doing incredible things.

The Team:

Reporting to a New York-based content lead and collaborating with a small team of content creators, you will play an essential role in brainstorming, creating and executing video content.

You will:

• Create, shoot, edit, and produce videos quickly for BuzzFeed’s social accounts

• Use your excellent sense of pace and timing, a knowledge for the best ways to grab viewers, and a sense for how to tell a story in as little time as possible.

• Have a knack for finding the funniest and most entertaining content on the internet and identifying social trends before they happen

• Understand the best ways to grab viewers, and have a sense for how to tell a powerful story in as little time as possible.

• Have a passion for generating ideas for, and experimenting with, new formats and content types

• Participate in brainstorms and bringing new ideas to the table

• Keep track of viral trends on social across all verticals, create content around them, and analyze the results of your work

You have:

• 3+ years of experience with all forms of video production and as equally proficient with a DSLR as a mobile phone

• Adobe Creative Cloud experience (Premiere pro, Photoshop etc. -- After Effects skills a plus)

• Proven experience creating shareable content for a black audience

• Have an obsession with social media and the deep web

• Have an authentic sense of humor and a positive, playful disposition

• An ego-free, collaborative attitude and play well with others
