Northwestern Mutual and LearnVest are redefining what personal finance and planning means for Americans. We’re looking for an experienced video producer to help take our newly-formed video team to the next level. Working with the Director of Video, the video producer will develop, produce and edit original video content for both brands that inform, empower and entertain consumers.

Principal Accountabilities

• Develop, produce and edit original video content for Northwestern Mutual and LearnVest
• Assist with full scope of video production from pitch to publish: manage video projects across site and social, gather elements, oversee edits
• Help identify and produce social-first, platform-specific videos that entertain, inspire and inform
• Coordinate Live videos alongside social team; manage studio shoots
• Shoot and edit video projects as needed
• Maintain video calendar
• Identify stories and series that should be told through video
• Help sculpt the way our brands look on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
• Work with legal and compliance to ensure videos meet enterprise standards
• Find ways to reach new audiences through video and social storytelling
• Assist with weekly and monthly performance reports

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in multimedia video production
• Proficient video editing skills; intermediate shooting skills; basic lighting experience
• Understanding of how video is shared and consumed differently across digital, social and mobile platforms
• Knowledge of video publication best practices across distribution platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Organized with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
