Data Warehouse Engineer (Senior or Staff)

Maven is looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Engineer to help us build out our data infrastructure and data platform as our product and user base continue to grow. This engineer will work with the Data Engineering pod at Maven to deliver data products and services to the Maven team.
As a Data Warehouse Engineer at Maven, you will:
- Help us optimize and elevate our Data Warehouse by defining methodology for the reusable data assets and increasing data availability
- Develop frameworks that support data driven decisions and allow our teams to access and prepare data sets and reports easily and reliably
- Define and implement Dev and QA environments for data warehouse development
- Own data quality and reliability, and navigate complex challenges related to healthcare data privacy
- Thrive in a collaborative face-paced environment where data expertise and responsibility are shared with teammates across disciplines
We're looking for you to bring:
- 5+ years experience as a data engineer designing and deploying data systems
- Experience in designing data warehouses using Google Big Query, Snowflake or Redshift
- Mastery of DBT as the primary data transformation tool for the entire data warehouse
- Deep knowledge of a variety of database and data warehouse methodologies and techniques
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, experience working with REST API's and deep understanding of SQL-based Big Data systems
- Experience using Airflow for job orchestration
- Advanced project management and prioritization skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Point of view regarding data warehouse and data platform best practices
- Leadership to drive future product and engineering decisions to deliver great data systems
Helpful experiences and skills (if you don't have them, you can learn them with us!):
- Experience with Looker from a platform perspective
- Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud)
- Background in a healthcare-related or other regulated field
- Experience in a startup environment
