As the lead for Data Governance in the Security Engineering team, you will play a central role in working across the organization to catalog and maintain data. You will closely work with Engineering and Product Stakeholders to drive and create solutions to provide data governance and help Grubhub remain vigilant in an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle
- Manage data governance primarily as it relates to information security and regulatory risk
- Work across the various technology and product teams to mature maintainable processes around data management and quality. This will require deployment of tools and/or services in addition to written policies and procedures
- Help to ensure Grubhub remains in compliance with new and existing regulatory requirements around data management and protection
- Oversee or guide others in the execution of data governance-related projects and delivering them on time. Managing third party vendor relations may also be necessary
- Always be searching for ways the organization can improve its data governance posture
You Should Have
- 5+ years of experience in data governance, information security, and privacy
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field Computer Science, Information Security is preferred
- Previous experience assisting with or overseeing the implementation of data governance solutions to meet regulatory requirements. Experience with GDPR is a huge plus!
- Skills to perform an evaluation of data governance tools and help identify a solution or solutions to meet our various needs. Additional experience or knowledge of data management and data quality, experience working with querying tools for the manipulation of data, and experience working with data catalogs are huge pluses.
- Good verbal, written communication, problem-solving skills, a strong sense of ownership and have an innovative mindset
- Ability to work with others across multiple groups within an organization. Previous experience managing projects across teams is a huge plus.
