The Opportunity:

Shutterstock Inc. seeks a Data Scientist in New York, NY to work in-house as a member of our Data Science and Analytics team. Requirements: Master’s degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience utilizing predictive analysis, statistics, mathematics, machine learning, and computer programming to find business growth opportunities through predictive modeling, advanced classification, sales optimization, and optimal marketing spend strategy. Prior experience must include three (3) years of building predictive machine learning models, non-linear multivariate regression models, and classification; utilizing computer programming languages including Python and R; using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques including Monte Carlo simulation, numerical optimization, cross-validation, and multiple linear regression; building marketing attribution/mix models and marketing spending optimization models; working with SQL databases including MS SQL server; applying data mining techniques to discover patterns in data; applying results of predictive modeling to business decisions; and writing computer scripts to perform data acquisition, data pre-processing, feature engineering and data warehousing tasks from multiple data sources.
