Digital/Web Analyst, Penguin Random House

The Consumer Marketing Development group at Penguin Random House is seeking a Digital/Web Analyst to join our team. The Digital/Web Analyst will primarily be responsible for analyzing and identifying opportunities to grow and optimize Penguin Random House’s corporate consumer programs: PenguinRandomHouse.com, ReadBrightly.com, and ReadItForward.com. This is an exciting opportunity to join the largest book publisher in the world and work on programs that reach millions of readers each month.

The Digital/Web Analyst reports to the Sr. Manager of Marketing Analytics and is responsible for:

  • Delivering and presenting recurring web analytics reporting across PenguinRandomHouse.com, ReadBrightly.com, and ReadItForward.com
  • Partnering with content teams and guiding them towards short-term and long-term goals by providing actionable insights and informing content strategy across channels (search, social, email, etc.)
  • Collaborating with product and development teams to scope, write, and test analytics tracking requirements across websites
  • Analyzing and providing recommendations for UX improvements
  • Building and maintaining dashboards in Adobe Analytics for stakeholders in the publishing divisions
  • Implementing web and advertising pixels via tag management system (Tealium IQ)
  • Conducting web analytics trainings for marketers in both one-on-one and classroom settings
  • Keeping up to date on new technologies in consumer and digital marketing and sharing information with other marketers

In addition to 1-2 years of experience, the ideal candidate has:

  • Working experience with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics / Omniture preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A curiosity and eagerness to interpret web analytics and digital consumer data
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to troubleshoot
  • Familiarity and/or interest in SEO best practices and tools (Moz, Google Trends/Search Console)
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL a plus
