About the Role
We are looking for an analytical, results-driven Director to lead our Health Guide team. Health Guide is Ro’s digital health publication that covers medical topics across 50+ conditions and is rapidly expanding. Reporting to the Senior Director, Growth, you will be responsible for driving the overall traffic and revenue growth of Health Guide and developing/implementing audience development strategies to drive tangible long-term business impact. You will have ownership over this property and will have significant influence over all aspects of this property, from offsite growth levers to partnerships to onsite experiences.

You embrace ambiguity and are eager to navigate the intricate healthcare advertising policy landscape to devise creative solutions for difficult problems. You are equally excited about the “work” as you are about building and mentoring a world class editorial and SEO team.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the growth of Health Guide, identifying and testing into new areas of traffic growth across organic, owned, and paid channels
- Work closely with editorial and clinical teams to develop and optimize high-quality content that drive meaningful growth
- Own all monetization and audience development efforts, leading and aligning stakeholder teams to ensure we hit aggressive growth targets
- Partner with product, engineering, and analytics teams to build, test, and measure new user funnels and flows to acquire, nurture, and convert Health Guide visitors
- Mentor and grow a team of seasoned editors and SEOs, providing thought leadership around traffic generation, audience development and general growth principles and practices
- Own relationships with technology providers, agencies, and service providers that support Health Guide and our SEO program
- Drive forward key relationships with marketing, clinical, and legal partners to ensure onsite experiences are effective and compliant
- Oversee the development and refinement of dashboards and reports that empower day to day decision making and elucidate the long-term impact of Health Guide
- Collaborate with vertical leads and finance teams to align on budgets and targets, leading forecasting and goal setting
What You’ll Bring:
- At least 10+ years of combined growth, audience development, SEO experience in an evolving/competitive/regulated industry, such as fintech, telemedicine, non-traditional insurance
- Subject matter expertise in SEO, newsletter, social, and partnerships
- Detailed knowledge of web analytics tools such as Google Analytics/Omniture. Familiarity with SQL, data warehouses (Snowflake, etc.), and visualization tools (Looker, Tableau) are a major plus
- Strong people management skills with a track record of building and managing a best-in-class editorial/acquisition/growth team
- Ability to communicate complex/nuanced information to business and technical audiences alike
- Insatiable eagerness to learn and push what we’re doing, across content development/optimization, data analytics, and the Health Guide experience
- Proven track record of delivering outsized business impact through SEO, lead gen, or newsletters
Bonus Points:
- Growth product background with an emphasis on testing and testing conversion funnels and lead gen/nurturing flows
- Prior experience operating in a heavily regulated environment, such as healthcare, law, or finance
