The Role:

We are seeking a seasoned  Operational Risk Analyst to join our growing team! You’ll be a member of the Operational Risk team, within the External Operations department and will report to an Operational Risk Manager.  This individual will be responsible for mitigating operational losses, building and enhancing process controls, identifying and eliminating systemic errors, and redesigning operating processes and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.  They  will be accountable for identifying and working towards optimizing and controlling operational risk of DailyPay payments and partners. In this role you will utilize information from multiple sources to make informed decisions. Success in this role will rely on a combination of detailed understanding of DailyPay's operational risks, proficiency in risk management practices, ability to speak up and eagerness to learn.

How You Will Make an Impact:

Within 30 days:

  • Understand Daily Pay business model, teams and its risk profile 
  • Make connections with other teams in order to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Assist on operational risk projects

Within 60 days:

  • Begin to take ownership of specific tasks within projects
  • Evaluates the control environment by ensuring appropriate controls are in place.
  • Participates in the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.

Within 90 days:

  • Liaise with teams on a range of payment, partner and risk topics
  • Capture product risks to work with our product and engineering team to improve new product rollouts and current products in production
  • Able to look at the larger picture of a risk and dig into control gaps
  • Become a subject matter expert on DailyPay’s specific risks
  • Execute goals from beginning to end
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
  • Help develop and transform the strategy of the team to match business evolution

6 month team goal:

While the team is continually growing and becoming more formalized, our six month goals are to have a formalized risk governance which will include but is not limited to a defined risk tolerance for different risk areas and defined risk event structure for capturing high risk incidents that occur. We will look to formalize oversight and process control mapping for new partner launches, re-implementations, incident management and a continual partner review process.

What You Bring to The Team:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of experience in either risk management, consulting, audit or payments OR equivalent education and experience
  • Can build strong relationships through effective communication across multiple platforms
  • An intuitive problem-solver that works wells under pressure and with all types of personalities
  • Can interact and collaborate cross functionally
  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize daily tasks 
  • Ability to learn quickly in an ever changing environment
  • A unique opinion and eager to speak up
  • Occasional need to work outside of normal business hours as required to support customers may be required
