The Role

The TM1 application developer will function as part of the planning and analytics team within the finance department.  This role will participate in requirements gathering, technical design, development, deployment and integration to solve budgeting, planning, performance management and reporting challenges. This role will work with other team members to develop solutions that strike the right balance between precision and speed, providing ever more scalable and granular data models and reporting without sacrificing accuracy or agility.

In addition to requiring a high level of technical expertise within Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics, this role is about understanding the needs of the business, the data behind it, and how to transform this information into technical solutions that allow the business to make swift, informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Involvement in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC) for TM1 projects, including requirements gathering, modeling & design, development, testing, deployment, integration, and documentation.
  • Model Admin responsibilities including user maintenance
  • Support dimension management, metadata design/maintenance, ETL development, and data validation processes.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities
  • Provide risk assessment for new functionality and enhancements, and identify process improvement opportunities to drive innovation
  • Work with teams utilizing TM1 to ensure consistent design & integration.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that accelerate cycle times, alleviate cumbersome manual processes, and ensure financial results are accurate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting- an understanding of the financial planning and budgeting process
  • Experience with data modeling
  • SQL experience and familiarity with data warehouse table concepts
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills
  • 2+ years of TM1 development experience (model building, admin activities)
  • Proficient in Advanced Turbo Integrator scripting
