Please note, even though we are a remote-first company we are looking for someone who is located in the Tri-State area or around and can travel to NYC occasionally.

We are looking for a digital-first Design Manager with strong graphic design and brand design skills to join our creative and marketing team at Animoto. You will work with a diverse team of creatives and marketers to drive concept development and execution of on-brand content that delivers on brand awareness, engagement, and bookings.

What you’ll do:

• Set the creative vision and lead the creation of on-brand content by defining clear design goals and deliverables, providing clear feedback
• Drive collaboration for omnichannel campaigns, product launches, content marketing, social, acquisition, and ongoing lifecycle education
• Be a people manager, providing effective mentorship and career guidance to our team of talented designers
• Guide the evolution of the Animoto brand as we move into new markets and target new customer profiles
• Be a genuine partner to Marketing Leadership, working closely to define creative strategy, improve our processes, and drive high-quality execution
• Develop a point of view on how trends in design, culture, and social media should be capitalized on in our marketing efforts
• Build and maintain a deep understanding of our products and make sure that it is well-represented in the creative work
• Roll up your sleeves and contribute where necessary

What we’re looking for:

• 5-8 years of professional design experience working primarily in-house on a creative team embedded on a marketing team
• 2+ years of experience as a people manager with a people-first approach
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating excellence in graphic design, illustration, animation, and branding
• Experience adapting creative to specific audiences, industries, and channel needs (email, web, social, paid acquisition, content marketing, etc)
• Bias for action and a fearless desire to take risks and experiment with bold ideas
• Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, Studio Art, Emerging Media or similar

Bonus points:

• Experience art directing photo and video shoots
• Experience with video editing
• Have 10k+ followers/subscribers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube
• Design nerdy-ness
