Bonobos is seeking a Production Designer who is passionate about keeping a consistently high level of visual quality across our brand’s printed materials.

This role is responsible for maintaining brand consistency and integrity in all printed assets. Bonobos is preparing to refresh our brand identity and the Production Designer will help to develop and implement new standards—updating them from time to time as the brand and business requires. He or she will work closely with creative directors, producers, copy writers and designers to ensure consistency in quality of work and be able to manage multiple projects to meet timelines and due dates.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about the production design process, comfortable with following creative direction, self-motivated and can work both independently and collaboratively. They oversee the end-to-end production details and enjoy experimenting with new tools, methods and approaches to streamline the production process in partnership with our project teams. Flawless design execution is their top priority. 

What you'll do...

• Prepare fine mechanicals and pre-flight files for roughly 12 catalogs a year—a quarterly magazine of approximately 80 pages, as well as 8 supplemental catalogs, approximately 24-36 pages each
• Ongoing updates, maintenance and design of supporting assets including large seasonal campaigns
• Provide the final technical checkpoint before any print file is released to vendor
• Ensure that all creative components are delivered on time and in accordance with all printer specifications
• Execute all changes and enhancements to the original design 
• Ensure that all photography and illustration assets are at optimal resolution and properly linked
• Manage all of the production needs in order to ensure the on-time delivery of the final files to the vendor
• May instruct other production artists who are working on the same project
• Troubleshoot production challenges between partner and internal/external creative teams to achieve high-level of partner satisfaction
• Practice impeccable digital hygiene and keeps files organized and accessible to all
• Contribute to environment that is efficient, professional, proactive, and team oriented
• Champion the needs and expectations of the Creative Team 

You…

• Have a BA in Graphic Design or other relevant education
• 5+ years of professional design or related graphic design production experience
• Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (CS5, CS6, or CC), specifically InDesign, InCopy, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Are exceptionally discerning about layout, typography, color, hierarchy and balance
• Have expert knowledge of mechanical and printing production
• Can troubleshoot problems with typography, layout, applications, hardware
• Are supremely organized with stellar time-management skills
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Are comfortable working in a fast-paced design environment
