We are looking for an experienced UX Researcher to join Maven’s Product Team.  Reporting into our UX, Research Manager, you will work directly with Maven product managers, product designers, and business stakeholders to better understand how Maven members engage with our products to inform new features and experiences. You will draw insights from qualitative research, user interviews, persona development across Maven’s different tracks from family planning through pregnancy, postpartum and pediatric. Your research will help define strategy to drive better health outcomes through an engaging human-centered experience.

As a UX Researcher at Maven, you will:

  • Collaborate with product managers and product designers to prioritize strategic research questions that will have the biggest impact on Maven members 
  • Develop testing methodology (exs. interviews or surveys), timelines, and scope to understand Maven member needs across Maven’s various care offerings
  • Conduct user testing on mockups and prototypes as well as finished products and features — run point on managing testing logistics (including sourcing participants, timing etc)
  • Thoughtfully balance all aspects of Maven’s business by considering member needs as well as employer & health plan asks when contributing to product strategy and developing user-centered practices to incorporate into company operations
  • Share out research insights to product and business stakeholders to drive action on product improvements and help the company keep Maven members at the center of decision making
  • Facilitate research handoff process (ex. workshops) to ensure teams understand insights in order to translate into solutions
  • Build our database of research insights and artifacts to drive product decision making and prioritization in future projects; build out other research process to streamline and scale out the function
  • Be a champion of research and help encourage and inspire a culture of user-centered decision making around the organization by training and supporting other teams on how to conduct research 

We’re looking for you to bring:

  • 3+ years of user research experience (including writing and conducting user interviews and testing)
  • Exceptional ability to translate research into actionable insights 
  • Mastery of relevant research tools and methodologies (competitive analysis, data gathering, interviews, UX testing, etc)
  • Experience working with product teams and applying research methodologies to the product development process 
  • Ability to empathize with and understand the unique perspective of our many audiences (patients, providers, care team, HR buyers)
  • Experience creating research plans that address gaps in knowledge and will help us drive better business decisions 
  • Deep research experience demonstrated through a portfolio of multiple case studies
  • Strong communication, storytelling and collaboration skills

Helpful experiences and skills (if you don’t have them, you can learn them with us!)

  • Experience working in a complex space (such as healthcare or financial services)
