The PebblePost engineering team works on a set of unique and exciting challenges innovating and delivering personalized, Programmatic Direct Mail®. We process billions of events, store terabytes of information, and send millions of relevant and meaningful offers from brands consumers love.

We focus the bulk of our technical efforts in three areas:

• Our Address Graph uses distributed data and graph processing to create connections between online browsing activity and physical location in a privacy compliant, consumer-centric fashion.
• Our Mail Decisioning Engine uses machine learning and predictive analytics to determine an ideal recipient for an offer, and manages delivery intelligence for each personalized mail piece.
• Our data warehouse delivers real-time insights for brands on campaign effectiveness utilizing first and third-party data. 

We are looking for engineers to join our cloud team where the focus is on designing software to support distributed systems at scale. Our team is at the center of the full software stack here at Pebblepost, providing you with exposure to a variety of technologies and engineering disciplines.

What you'll be up to:

• Automate and manage AWS infrastructure and deployment processes, including production and development environments.
• Champion best practices of AWS usage, configuration and security.
• Monitor and maintain efficient operations of our infrastructure.
• Automating software integration including testing, building, packaging, and deployment.
• Triage and/or fix bugs, security vulnerabilities, and operational issues.
• Developing and performing unit and integration testing as well as supporting test environments.
• Fix what's broken. Do what's needed. As an operations specialist your goal is to make sure we are always running smoothly and securely.

What You'll Need To Have:

• 3+ years experience managing AWS resources via the AWS Console including AMIs, EC2, EMR, and VPCs
• At least 3+ years experience within a DevOps type role
• Proficiency with Ansible/Chef/Puppet and Terraform
• Advanced knowledge of Linux is required
• Advanced knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
• Experience scaling big data systems around Hadoop infrastructure
• Experience using Docker Compose and other Docker utilities to create/package, deploy, and manage containerized solution deployments
• Experience using Jenkins or other similar CI/CD tools for pipeline management
• Working knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases
• Passionate about process and automation, and doing things the right way
• Passion for learning new technologies quickly

Bonus Skills:

• Understanding of different application designs and operational trade-offs of each
• Thrive in a start-up style environment
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related degree
• Experience maintaining and deploying distributed systems (Mesos/Kubernetes)
