OVERVIEW:

VICE creates cutting edge, compelling, youth-oriented content. The new Media Engineering organization is responsible for the technical implementation of shared services that support the creative process across all of VICE’s lines of business.

DESCRIPTION:

 The Media Engineering Associate will work closely with the new Media Engineering team at VICE to maintain and improve post production operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Closely advise post teams on workflow across verticals
• Help stand up new workflows, integrations and systems across all verticals
• Responsible for delivering high-quality, rapid-response support and ensuring disparate systems across our environment meet targets for availability, performance and safety

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1+ years of experience in broadcast engineering and/or post production
• 1+ years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite line of products, with an emphasis on Premiere and Media Encoder
• Broad knowledge of media formats for edit; experience prepping for and executing offline and online workflows
• Understanding media asset lifecycle from recall/ingest/acquisition to distribution and archive
• Self-starter; strong time management skills
• Extremely organized
• Great communication skills along with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams
• Mac, Windows and Linux proficient
• Background in CS is a plus but not required
• Background in QC or experience technically evaluating media using array of broadcast scopes and meters is a plus
• Background in transcode and workflow automation is a plus but not required
