POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Engineer will be the key technical adviser and product advocate to our clients. You will be our client’s internal advocate and will assist their Business Development, Product and Engineering teams, helping them understand the technical aspects of Payfone’s products and how the company can solve their business challenges. You will also work closely with the Payfone’s Customer Success and Product teams. You must have a proven track record of working in a technical environment and the ability to translate technical solutions to understandable terms for non-technical clients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the Sales Engineering team, the Sales Engineer is expected to:
- Act as a primary technical resource for the Sales team
- Respond to technical elements of RFPs
- Manage the technology evaluation stage of the sales process
- Work closely with Business Development and Customer Success to ensure a successful onboarding of new clients
- Act as a liaison between Sales and Product and Engineering to ensure that clients’ business needs are translated in technical requirements and reflected in the Product road map
- Understand our clients’ development and production environments along with their business challenges and objectives
- Develop sales engineering strategies and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Stay up to date on the technical aspects of the Payfone suite of products

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technical management or professional services role
- Minimum of 2 years in a similar role for a tech startup
- Must have client facing experience and strong presentation skills
- Ability to translate technical terms to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
