We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join our team in Brooklyn to help deliver on the above goals. In this role, you will lead a team of 1-3 Android engineers, providing technical solutions to real life problems. You’ll shape our engineering culture by leading department initiatives that have a wide-ranging impact on the team. You will also play a meaningful role in educating our partners and colleagues on how our engineering team works and why it matters.

 Your Responsibilities & ImpactLead a Production Engineering Team

  • Collaborate with product and design leads to create and maintain the product’s technical roadmap
  • Hold the product’s engineering team accountable for expectations and communication to ensure on-time quality work
  • Build rapport with engineers, coach them daily and fully own their technical growth

Support Technological Advancement

  • Lead at least one departmental initiative
  • Commit to exploring different technical solutions for various product challenges
  • Share and promote takeaways to foster a diverse and inclusive learning environment

Develop the Engineering Department

  • Help ensure a curious, positive and empathetic engineering culture
  • Lead interviews and support hiring manager to make hiring decisions
  • Participate in new business pitches, sharing engineering insights and recommendations

 Your Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years of Android engineering experience in a full time role
  • 1+ year experience leading Android product development in an Agile team
  • Experienced with native Android frameworks and common libraries, including reactive programming and dependency injection
  • Deep understanding of design patterns and API design
  • Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases
  • Experience leading major Google Play Store releases for successful products
  • Advocate of agile software development methodology
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
  • Enthusiastic about collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Enjoy communicating your ideas to identify and solve problems
  • Embrace challenges on a daily basis
