About You

We are looking for a strong, passionate DevOps / SRE to join our core Engineering team in NYC. We use our powers for good here! Your work will have a direct impact on making quality education affordable for students.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the deployment, maintenance and security of cloud-based direct to consumer and SaaS products.

• Developer Operations
  • Responsible for deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the systems that keep the backend infrastructure running smoothly.
  • Hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach toward environment automation / management and continuous improvement.
• Information Security
  • Be the thought leader in developing and carrying out information security plans and policies, including strategies to respond to and recover from a potential security breach.
  • Identify and implement open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats.
  • Penetration testing, simulating an attack on the system to find exploitable weaknesses.

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or technical discipline
• At least 3 years of DevOps & Security experience
• Significant experience with:
  • Amazon AWS Services
  • Dockerized services running over AWS ECS
  • Terraform
  • Securing PII with encryption using AWS KMS in a relational database
  • DevOps projects for NodeJS & Java
• Familiarity with:
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Kubernetes
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential
