You would join a tightly-knit group that values user-centered experience and is building a product that is the result of the cooperation between our product, design, and development teams. Through iteration, testing, user research, and experimentation, we believe in constantly evolving and improving.
What you’ll do:
- Be a leader within Maven and help drive our technical direction and vision.
- Facilitate collaboration with other engineers to solve interesting and challenging problems.
- Architect, develop, deploy, and operate complex services, APIs, and systems.
- Mentor and train other team members on architecture, design techniques, and coding standards.
- Help drive and promote high standards around performance, testing, documentation, version control, and other best practices.
Who you are:
- You are an experienced technical leader with experience in fast paced engineering teams.
- You think about systems and services and write high quality code—we work mostly in Python. However, languages can be learned: we care more about your engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language or framework.
- You enjoy owning and building systems all the way from business problem through design, architecture, development and delivery.
- You have experience building and operating services in cloud environments, preferably GCP.
- You thrive in a collaborative environment where expertise and responsibility is shared with teammates across disciplines.
- You enjoy sharing and learning from peers, mentoring junior colleagues, and spreading knowledge across the organization (talks, presentations, etc).
Requirements:
- 8+ years experience building backend services for production web applications
- Extensive experience with building highly reliable back-end services and distributed systems
- End-to-end ownership of feature development
