At CB Insights, we build software products that predict emerging business and technology trends. This requires gathering information from disparate sources, analyzing it, extracting useful information and surfacing that on our platform. As a UI Practice Lead, you will lead the development of a world class user interface, enabling our end-users to effectively leverage the platform to gain actionable insights through powerful visualizations and streamlined workflows. You will set the technical direction and lead UI development across multiple teams and partner with product on design and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and Lead UI development across multiple teams, ensuring consistent front-end tech stack, component reuse, and adoption of best practices
• Partner with product on user experience and design, taking a holistic view for the front-end ensuring a coherent UI and UX for the CB Insights platform
• Own the UI and UX landscape at CB Insights, ensuring functional clarity for spaces and pages
• Mentor front-end developers on UI technologies, concepts and best practices
• Set strategy for the UI tech stack, including building reusable components and stylesheets
• Define goals and measurable outcomes for continuously improving our UI and UX

Requirements and Qualifications

• Agile and lean value set
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Self-motivated and ambitious with goal of building world class front-end for our platform
• On top of latest technologies and tools for UI development, with an understanding of when to apply different technologies based on use case
• Deep knowledge of React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
• Knowledgeable of user experience concepts
• Experience working with Docker, Linux and AWS infrastructure
• Experience with Content Management Systems such as WordPress, Craft or others
• Believer in reuse and streamlining common tasks
• Expert in single-page applications
• 3+ years professional experience managing people and teams
• 8+ years professional experience in software engineering
