About This Role:

As the Staff Accountant at Cheddar, you will be joining a lean and nimble Finance team that supports a primarily ad sales driven media business at the forefront of content creation and over-the-top delivery. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is ideally suited for a go-getter with a knack for organization, attention to detail and process design.  You will be involved in all aspects of the Accounting function, including:  

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day bookkeeping, ensuring US GAAP compliance.
• Coordinate payroll with outside PEO.
• Manage key elements of working capital processes (setting up A/P invoices and helping track A/R, Collections).
• Hone and follow a clear, concise monthly close process.
• Prepare monthly close packs, including analyzing variances and identifying trends.
• Manage T&E processes and employee expense reporting.
• Assist in information reporting for tax and audit services.

Requirements:

• BA/BS in Accounting with 1-3 years of experience in an Accounting role.
• Familiarity with all in-house Accounting functions, from clerk roles (AP / AR / Payroll) to completing monthly close of books.
• Proven ability to problem solve and improve processes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.

Nice to haves:

• Audit or start-up experience.
• Knowledge of media revenue accounting.
• Familiarity with Netsuite.
