Knotel is looking for an Assistant Controller to support the team in creating a scalable infrastructure with strong internal controls. This is a full-time role reporting directly to the Controller and will directly manage a team of two Accounting Managers, each with a supporting team. What you’ll do
Supervisory:
- Mentoring and developing team and ensuring adequate cross-training and documentation
- Owning General Accounting processes, including streamlining, adequacy of accruals, reviewing account reconciliations and expense analytics
- Overseeing Internal and External Audits as well as annual tax filing
General Accounting and Reporting:
- Reviewing monthly financial statements for parent company and US subsidiaries
- Reviewing monthly variance analysis versus prior year and budget
- Assisting in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
- Refining, documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures and controls policies
- Developing ERP reporting expertise; proactively providing value-added analysis
- Play a lead role in supporting cross- and intra-team systems implementations/enhancements
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements
Who you are
You’re technically savvy leader and a critical thinker who can anticipate potential obstacles and consider creative solutions. You have a passion for leveraging systems and driving process improvements. You’re an effective communicator and can develop strong relationships to achieve desired outcomes. You also have the following:
- 7+ years of proven success with 3+ years management experience
- BA/BS degree in Accounting
- CPA required, MBA a plus
- Strong working knowledge of technical accounting literature and it’s application to foreign currency translation, investments, debt, revenue recognition, business combinations, new contracts/business initiatives, lease accounting.
