As the Accounting Director, you’ll have one Staff Accountant under your management and be reporting to our VP Finance. This roles plays an integral role in defining the accounting function for a rapidly growing startup. This role can be remote or based in NYC.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee all accounting processes including month-end closing, reporting, compliance, tax, AR/AP, consolidations, collections, audit, inter-company activities , payroll reporting, expense review, etc.
- Continuously monitor the company’s accounting information, internal controls, systems and policies to identify inaccuracies and propose improvements
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies/systems to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Assist VP Finance with implementing and tracking budgets, KPIs, hiring plans, commissions, and various other policies
- Lead review of tax calculations, audits and returns, international expansion and related compliance/ procedures along with managing local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
- Assist with monthly variance analysis on actuals versus forecast
- Track meaningful financial metrics to monitor performance against team and company level OKRs and financial goals
- Support various departments with ad-hoc requests
- Assist VP Finance with investor relations and board reporting

Who You Are:
- You have a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance and a CPA
- You have an audit background and have worked in a fast-growing startup (ideally SaaS)
- You have a rich knowledge of accounting/GAAP principles
- You thrive on change and are flexible enough to adapt to a high-growth environment.
- You enjoy learning on a daily basis.
- You are collaborative but able to work independently and ensure commitments are adhered to with high quality output
- You enjoy managing and overseeing juniors in your supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience implementing Intacct/Netsuite is a plus
