Draper James is hiring a Financial Analyst who will be a key player within our small but growing Finance department! Candidates should be excited to roll up their sleeves and jump into a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment, where their efforts will have an immediate impact on business results. The role is ideal for candidates seeking a broad range of exposure to accounting, tax, treasury, FP&A and HR functions.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain key balance sheet accounts, including accounts receivable & payable, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets/accumulated depreciation in NetSuite
- Communicate effectively with wholesale customers, licensing partners and vendors to drive timely settlement of outstanding balances and resolve discrepancies as they arise
- Partner with external service providers to maintain compliance with sales tax laws and income tax filing requirements
- Partner with external services providers to process payroll, joiners & leavers
- Identify and execute on opportunities to make existing processes more efficient, as well as design and implement internal controls to ensure the completeness & accuracy of financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting with key analyses and analytics tailored to various internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in the development of our financial planning & analysis capabilities to enable real-time visibility into the company’s liquidity and profitability for senior leadership and the Board
- Support various strategic initiatives within the organization as needed
Your Qualifications
- A self-starter, with the ability to continually evaluate priorities in a rapidly evolving environment and balance routine tasks with complex/ad-hoc workstreams
- Results oriented, with the ability to identify issues/potential process improvements, gather relevant information, and work cross-functionally to drive to resolution
- Analytical, with the ability to aggregate and analyze large volumes of (sometimes imperfect) data and reach well-reasoned conclusions
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
- 2+ years of relevant experience in an accounting/finance/consulting role
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel; experience building financial models
- NetSuite experience a plus
