As a Payroll Manager, you will support the Finance team and Transfix’s growing employee base. You will be responsible for accurately processing our regular payroll cycles, and assist the accounting team to reconcile bank accounts, vendor transactions, and tax remittances.

What you'll do:
- Own end-to-end payroll process
- Ensure employees are properly set up in our payroll system
- Process semi-monthly payroll and coordinate with the People team to ensure all updates are accurately reflected
- Report monthly wages to Department of Labor
- Manage payroll accounting and compliance obligations
- Manage approval process from managers for timesheet submissions
- Remain in compliance with all legal and institutional requirements at all times
- Familiarize yourself and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits and other factors
- Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specification
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee pay-related questions
- Partner with People/HR Team on compensation changes, deductions, bonus and commission payments, vacation payouts, and benefits for employees
- Report to Finance team to ensure alignment on employee data
- Partner with UKG to ensure and provide all the information necessary for state quarterly withholding
- Work closely with the People/HR Team and the Finance team on various projects.
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years experience with full-cycle payroll
- Experience processing payroll for 150+ employees in a multi-state environment
- Experience with payroll software (UKG preferred), equity management tool and 401K contributions (Betterment preferred)
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential employee information and keep private
- Experience managing SUI and SIT taxes and garnishments
- Advanced excel skills
- Motivated, self-starter who enjoys working in a team-oriented fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, detail orientation, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Able to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
- Proactive about raising issues and sharing ideas
