As the Revenue Accountant on JW Player’s Finance team in our NYC Headquarters, you will drive the success of our contract to cash process through the design, implementation and automation of the controls around contract approvals, invoicing and revenue.

You will work closely with a variety of internal stakeholders, including Sales, Sales Operations, Legal, Finance and senior management to ensure adherence to organizational standards and protocol while gaining valuable experience working for the most powerful and flexible video platform on the web.

As a Revenue Accountant, you will:

• Complete primary review and validate all executed contracts, confirming compliance with internal policies, ASC 606 GAAP, and best practices
• Ensure all information required for order submission is documented and accurate
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Finance and Sales Operations to ensure efficient, timely and accurate invoice processing and resolution of discrepancies
• Calculate and record prepaid commissions on a monthly basis.
• Calculate and distribute commission statements to the sales organization.
• Ensure internal and external client inquiries regarding invoices, payments, discrepancies and contract clarification requests are fully resolved in a timely fashion with a high level of satisfaction
• Collaborate with Sales Operations to facilitate any subsequent changes or adjustments requested by Sales or Client and use discretion in determining course of action
• Comply with SLA response times for contract approvals, invoicing and client inquiries
• Perform daily posting of customer payments
• Assist with monthly close and annual financial audit
• Perform other ad-hoc projects or tasks as requested by management

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of billing experience
• Experience working in SaaS environment
• Understanding of and ability to apply U.S. GAAP principles
• Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition standard including deferred revenue
• Exceptional Excel skills (V-LOOKUP, pivot tables)
• Experience working with Salesforce CRM and a subscription billing system
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and G-Suite.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Motivated and results-driven
• Ability to leverage good judgment in problem-solving and issue escalation
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and G-Suite.
