WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. The Staff Accountant will assist the revenue team to ensure accuracy in revenue and commissions recognition in accordance with U.S. GAAP, timely closing of the monthly books, assist with the annual audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. This role will report directly to the Manager, Revenue Accounting and have exposure to the Director, Assistant Controller and the VP of Finance, Controller.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Play an essential role in the monthly revenue and commission close procedures including preparing journal entries and supporting reconciliations
- Prepare calculations of revenue analytics to present trends, results and KPIs
- Maintain account balances including reconciling, researching and resolving all discrepancies
- Ensure accuracy of data processed through integrations and continue to aid in the optimization of existing platforms, including Zuora Revenue and other new and existing platforms
- Work with the Accounts Receivable team to monitor collectability of customer accounts and estimation of allowances
- Coordinate with multiple departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
- Maintain account balances including reconciling, researching and resolving all discrepancies
- Aid in establishing internal processes and controls over monthly close and reporting periods
- Assist with external audit requests, including preparation & review of schedules as assigned
- Help to prepare GAAP financial statement disclosures
- Prepare documentation on financial processes and policies
WHO YOU ARE
- 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably at a public company
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- Highly organized and results-oriented and works with a sense of urgency
- Ability to meet strict deadlines; able to manage multiple priorities
- Highly self-motivated, detailed oriented, flexible team player that is able to operate independently
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Experience with Zuora Revenue, Netsuite and/or Floqast a plus
- Experience with the new revenue standard (ASC606) a plus
