Senior Accountant
Alma is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. The Senior Accountant position will focus on supporting Alma’s month-end close process, order to cash workflow, and general accounting processes as our company continues to scale. The ideal candidate has 4-7 years of experience in accounting and is seeking an opportunity to develop and expand their finance career at a high growth startup. We are looking for folks who have a deep passion for our mission and the future of mental health.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support in completion of month-end close activities, compiling financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing and posting journal entries
- Assist with monthly subscription invoicing & revenue recognition process as well as other monthly revenue reporting related to Alma’s order to cash workflow
- Review and approve operating expense accruals and intercompany journal entries as part of monthly close
- Analyze and review Accounts Receivable balances to ensure accuracy
- Help design & maintain a thorough system of accounting processes, and policies designed to accurately and efficiently close the books
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s business to appropriately implement and constantly improve efficient scalable accounting models
- Manage relationships with existing stakeholders and form new relationships with internal groups to ensure excellent business partnerships
- Interface with external accountants during audits
- Assist on projects, ad hoc assignments, and take on new accounting tasks as Alma grows.
- Assist with the implementation efforts around relevant accounting systems
Qualifications:
- BA degree in Accounting
- CPA or CPA track a plus
- Strong MS Excel skills
- 4-7 years of experience in accounting
- Experience in managing & mentoring staff accountants a plus
- Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment
- Advanced Excel and Netsuite experience preferred
- Proven analytical and project management skills
- Logical and critical thinking skills
- Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
- Experience in Health care and/or technology industries strongly preferred
