About This Role
WeWork’s Senior Business Analyst, Finance Systems is a key member of the Finance Systems team, and will have a passion for E2E project delivery, data analysis, process optimization, change management and enabling finance organizations to scale, leveraging systems and technology . You will combine your passion for technology with a background in Finance & Accounting, have an innate ability to learn new systems and tools quickly, and you thrive on working with the Finance Organization to understand system & process pain points, document requirements, collaborate with developers and product experts to deliver solutions and drive projects to execution to meet business goals. You are a fantastic communicator and understand the value of managing change in a faced-paced organization.
The Senior Business Analyst, Finance Systems will be a member of a team located in New York and will collaborate to deliver projects and new system functionality across WeWork’s Finance organization. The successful candidate will ensure that Finance Systems meets the hyper-growth demands of our global finance organization, while aligning with company goals, through requirements collection, project execution, process & data analysis and communication and escalation as needed, while working closely with business analysts to facilitate testing and change management and ensuring continuous improvement. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Business Analysis, Finance Systems.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst will have a number of responsibilities, focused on working with the Global Finance Organization to define and organize new system functionality in-line with business goals and direction from the Senior Manager, Business Analysis, while optimizing scalable processes and enabling Finance Systems to implement disruptive technical solutions. You will help drive projects from start to finish by coordinating information, gathering requirements, providing support through data analysis, and contributing to our overall performance and strategy. This role will provide value in the following area, playing a pivotal role in effectively working with systems & cross-functional finance teams to deliver & communicate effective solutions on schedule:
Project Documentation, Requirements Gathering, Execution & Communication
You will be responsible for defining, document, gather & communicate project requirements, work with relevant stakeholders to solicit approval for requirements, collaborate with system analysts to assess downstream systems and/or cross-functional impacts (thus mitigating risk), while maintaining SOX compliance.
You will collaborate closely with the Senior Manager, Business Analysis to prioritize projects and new functionality, assign timelines/deadlines & ensure mapping to business goals. As needed, you will analyze system data and recommend action if required. Additionally, you will take point on analyzing new and existing business processes to propose optimized solutions where manual or broken processes currently exist.
In addition, you will monitor E2E project execution by serving as a liaison to business stakeholders (working in collaborating with the Senior Manager and System Analysts), to communicate progress on system updates/changes, work with QA analysts to ensure comprehensive functional & regression testing for all system changes & updates, communicate resource needs in hypercare periods as applicable and focus on change management as part of project execution. This will involve training and regular communication via consistent and concise materials to ensure end users are up-to-date on new features and functionality. Communication and change management of system changes is a critical area where this role can add immense value.
Finally, you will step in on occasion as a Scrum Master, working with our System Analysts to ensure adequate & complete documentation on our boards. This will include intermittently facilitating weekly stand-up, sprint start/close and providing requested updates for our bi-weekly executive meetings.
Skills & Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, accounting, business, MIS/CIS or a related discipline
3+ years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a Technical Analyst role with direct exposure to technology transformation
Experience with multiple, complex, global, cross-functional technology transformation projects that combine significant complexity, visibility, priority, and risk
Experience with Workday Financials is preferred
Finance/Accounting experience is required
Experience with working collaboratively on teams
Track record of regular interaction with management
Understanding of SDLC, ITIL, Agile, Sarbanes-Oxley Technology Controls
Experience with the deployment of SaaS products
Solid understanding of API’s and integrations
