About the Role
As the Staff Accountant - Revenue, you support the revenue side of Namely’s business. You will be responsible for the accounting and compliance associated with Namely Employee Benefits (our brokerage business) and assist with accounting on SaaS / Tech business as well.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the revenue line item Brokerage Revenue on a monthly basis
- Full accounting of all revenue and commissions receivable
- Posting of revenue to accounting system
- Assist in implementing and maintaining Agency Management System
- Track and maintain the accounting for all expected and received commissions from carriers by client by policy
- Follow up with carriers to confirm our account status
- Responsible for all reporting all key metrics for benefits brokerage business including but not limited to premiums under management, variance reporting, ARR tracking, commission rates, revenue by benefits line, upsells and retention
- Liaison between benefits department and finance department
- Liaison between finance department and legal on agency compliance matters
- Provide data necessary for commissions payments for sales commissions
- Perform revenue tasks related to the subscription side of the business including but not limited to preparing schedules and assisting with monthly close process.
- Assist/Support collections and billing tasks when needed
- Assist/Support on sales tax and sales commissions related tasks
- Other tasks as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or like experience in an Insurance Agency
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail, must maintain sense of due dates on deliverables
Nice to Haves
- Insurance Agency Revenue accountant background (e.g. Gallagher, AON, MARSH, Willis, etc)
- Sales Force experience
- Zuora/NetSuite experience
- SaaS Experience
