About Punchcard

Punchcard’s customer intelligence platform helps world-class B2B companies predict winning growth strategies of the future. We’re reimagining how growth teams leverage Data to power decision-making in a world that’s changing at rapid speed.

Today, the way Revenue teams access data is clunky, antiquated, and manual. We have more data than ever — yet it’s seemingly impossible to distill insights or answer key questions. Data is scattered, unstructured, and challenging to analyze at scale. Business users are drowning in dashboards, and teams are stuck in analysis paralysis. We believe in

Our mission is to help GTM teams navigate the future with certainty. We accomplish this by using natural language search, LLMs, and data transformation to automate sales insights generation. We have paying SaaS customers, a killer team of 4, and are growing quickly. We're also backed by top VCs, including: Founders Fund (Keith Rabois), Browder Capital, FJ Labs, and 30+ angel investors who are founders/executives of world-class companies like Uber, Figma, WeWork, and more.

The Engineering Challenge

  • Aggregating and normalizing an enormous amount of data from a variety of sources.
  • Securing the world’s most comprehensive and valuable customer dataset used by B2B companies of all kinds.
  • Building a decision interface for business users that combines stunningly smart natural language search with a prediction engine.

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Founding Engineer who loves solving complex problems, is capable of building scalable systems from the ground up, and capable of implementing LLMs to create innovative products. Reporting to the Founder/CEO (Nancy Dong), you will be a technical leader who will ship high impact work with velocity and quality to serve a rapidly growing customer base. You will design and implement foundational backend systems that process and manage large volumes of customer data. You will lead the company’s technical processes including code reviews, design discussions, hiring, technical research, and ongoing architecture decisions. You will set the bar for Engineering excellence, and drive Product, Design, & Engineering roadmaps.

Our Dream Candidate

  • 7+ yrs of Software Engineering experience building, scaling and maintaining complex systems.
  • You have experience managing and scaling relational databases in production environments.
  • You are results-driven and want to build from the ground up.
  • You thrive when faced with complex problems and rapidly changing environments.
  • You are passionate about and like to get up-to-speed quickly on new technologies.
  • You are quick, and think on the order of minutes and hours — not days and weeks.
  • You are tenacious, and won’t let a problem stand until you’ve figured out how to solve it (which may be at 2 am in the morning).
  • On the flip side, you are also good at prioritizing, and saying “no” to problems that are not worth solving.
  • You have high levels of self-awareness and empathy; you expect greatness from yourself and those you work with.
  • You value a collaborative approach to building software with other Engineering & non-Engineering team members. Even if you disagree, you commit — the business must move forward!
  • Bonus: Experience building NLP applications (Deep Learning, Transformer Models, Prompt Engineering).
  • Bonus: Worked in B2B SaaS, at a Data Analytics company.
  • Our stack includes Typescript/Node.js and Postgres, but we care much more about your foundational Engineering skills than a specific language or framework.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and generous founding team equity.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • An opportunity to grow, take on enormous responsibility — and be rewarded for it.
  • Unlimited PTO, AKA “use it how you need it”. We believe in driving results, and trust our team to get the job done and recharge as they see fit.
  • In-person work at our office in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY).
