About Global Quantitative Strategies (GQS)
GQS is the quantitative investment business of Citadel. Founded in 2012, GQS has rapidly grown to become one of Citadel's core investment strategies and one of the top quantitative investment teams in the world. Agile teams of researchers, engineers, and traders develop robust systems that allow us to operate performant at scale and apply advanced statistical and quantitative modeling techniques to identify and act on investment opportunities.
GQS seeks a Quantitative Research Engineer (QRE) to join its Trading Systems team in Hong Kong. A global team, Trading Systems is responsible for building and maintaining GQS's proprietary automated trading system. As an engineer on the team, you would work closely with traders, developers, and researchers to build, extend and support high performance trading applications (e.g., position keeping, OMS, risk management, connectivity to markets etc.) with a particular focus on Asia markets. This role is crucial to GQS continuing to grow rapidly in APAC.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent field
  • Strong programming skills (C++ and Python)
  • Solid computer science foundation in OOP, data structures, algorithms, concurrent programming, messaging, and networking
  • Familiar with Linux environment
  • Proven track record of proactively and creatively solving problems by understanding and prioritizing business value and applying technology solutions
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Prior experience in automated trading and/or in building automated trading systems is a plus
