Who are we?

Sidewalk Labs is an Alphabet company tackling the challenges of urban growth. We are currently working with the tripartite agency Waterfront Toronto and the local community to design a new kind of mixed-use, complete community on Toronto's waterfront. This project, called Sidewalk Toronto, will combine forward-thinking urban design and new digital technology to create a people-centered neighborhood that achieves precedent-setting levels of sustainability, affordability, mobility, and economic opportunity.

What is the internship?

In this Summer Associate role, you will support our Finance team as a generalist. You gain experience across the business by owning projects that include: data-driven reporting, presentation creation, organizing company OKR’s (Objectives and Key Results), supporting the set up of new operations processes, and working with vendors in the procurement process.

This is a 10-week internship starting the first Monday in June and will be based out of our New York office at 10 Hudson Yards.

What We Expect:

• You are a graduate or undergraduate student with an interest in Finance, Accounting or Operations.
• You are highly motivated and have a no-job-is-too-small attitude. You’re excited to dive in and learn across the FP&A, Procurement, Accounting, and Financial Operations realms.
• Familiarity with G-Suite
• Flexibility. You roll with the punches and enjoy it!

Deliverables:

• Review current Finance processes and identify opportunities to streamline and develop process documentation
• Learn the purchasing process and assist in reviewing project requests and maintaining project dashboards
• Support monthly financial reporting for senior leadership and Alphabet
• Lead periodic updates and documentation of Finance/Procurement/Accounting policies
• Coordinate weekly team meetings
• Work with team to identify opportunities to transform Finance/Procurement/Accounting by leveraging digital technologies (automation, data-centered approach)
