User Experience Research Intern at Newsela
The User Research Intern will be part of our Design team, and work closely with our Product Managers, Data, and Customer Success teams. Using both qualitative and quantitative methodology to conduct research, you will work on projects that will impact product decisions and ultimately help students become more engaged readers. In your day to day, you’ll be creating surveys to capture user data, building working session materials, documenting notes from working sessions, and managing recruiting/scheduling of survey participants.
Why You’ll Love This Role:
You will get a taste of start-up life while building research expertise through involvement in a wide variety of projects across our organization. You’ll have to chance to practice research skills you already have, while trying out new skills with plenty of support. In addition to building out a robust skill set in user research from survey data, you will gain valuable experience designing, conducting, and analyzing focus group sessions.
Why We’ll Love You:
You are somebody who likes to get to the truth of the matter by reading or conducting you own research. You are empathetic towards the experiences of K-12 teachers and students, and are energized by the idea of synthesizing information to improve their user experience. An excellent communicator, you’re confident presenting your ideas in front of a group, answering questions, and are willing to consider feedback. You are curious and excited to experiment with new ideas. You have experience working with Excel and Office/Google Suites, and are an extremely detail-oriented organizer.
