IT Support Engineer
The Opportunity:
Technical support for a technology media company requires rapid response and quick intelligent decision making. As an IT Support Engineer on our EUC Engineering team you are the go-to person for Shutterstock’s hardware, application, and software needs, providing front line user support for all of Shutterstock’s internal tools and technologies.
You troubleshoot, respond to inquiries and find solutions to technical challenges. Beyond the day-to-day tasks, you improve the Shutterstock user experience by contributing to longer term projects and documentation efforts. You are highly technical and are comfortable problem solving with multiple operating systems (OS X, Linux, Windows) and a range of devices (including desktops/laptops, VOIP phone systems, video conferencing and various wireless devices). You occasionally partner with various teams including security, networking and infrastructure. An ideal candidate is a fast learner and great communicator who can support the IT needs of global offices of all sizes and Shutterstock employees of varying technical backgrounds. While you will be working within a larger, global team, the first responsibility is for the support of our US offices.
Responsibilities:
- Support IT infrastructure related projects, such as server or network upgrades, and office relocations and expansions
- Support audio and visual technologies, including video conferencing, as well as participate in support of live events.
- Work effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve, and escalate IT issues
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, prioritizing workload efficiently
- Provide desktop, telephone, system, application support to local and remote users
- Continually look for opportunities to develop solutions through automation
- Provide 24x7 support in an on-call rotation
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience working in an enterprise IT environment.
- Demonstrable experience with most of the following technologies: Linux, LAN/WAN network design, Google Apps, iOS, Windows Server, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, AD, Enterprise Anti-Virus Administration, Whole Disk Encryption, Windows / OSX, Systems Management, and Security Policies
- Dedicated, passionate and experienced in growing / scaling an IT organization, keeping pace with Shutterstock’s explosive growth
- 2+ years experience delivering to SLA based service constraints and operational metrics
- 2+ years of advanced desktop support / help desk or other client facing technology position(s)
- Strong customer service, organizational, prioritization, multitasking, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with Casper Suite for OSX management
- Audio/Visual experience including telepresence
- Knowledge of Linux system automation frameworks such as Puppet and Chef
