WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Trade Desk is a dynamic and fast-growing technology company with a legal team that has tripled in size in two years. We are looking for someone who loves to negotiate deals, analyze complex legal issues and find creative solutions. We seek candidates who enjoy working independently, are highly resourceful, have exceptional communications skills and are able to balance competing demands in a client-friendly manner. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Exercise strong judgement to advise The Trade Desk team and contribute to the overall success of the business.
  • Structure, draft, negotiate and review a wide variety of procurement and sales agreements, including master service agreements, SaaS and software licenses, consulting agreements, temp staffing contracts, reseller agreements, colocation and other data center agreements, NDAs, and various other agreements.
  • Provide support and advice on vendor RFPs and IT application reviews.
  • Support the department’s ability to scale globally by implementing new processes and technology platforms, including a complex contracts management system.
  • Identify, research, analyze, and advise teams on a wide range of relevant legal issues and risks, including licensing, intellectual property, commercial, data security, and privacy law.
  • Work closely with business development and client service terms to respond to day to day client needs.
  • Distill and communicate complex legal concepts in layman’s terms.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 4-7 years of experience working in an internationally/nationally-recognized law firm or in-house legal department (a mix of law firm and in-house experience is preferred).
  • Significant experience in structuring, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements, including SaaS agreements.
  • Excellent communicator, with the ability to interact with internal and external constituents at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environment, juggling competing, time-sensitive demands on a global scale.
  • Strong business sense and ability to exercise good business judgement is critical.
  • Admitted to practice or able to register as in-house counsel of an applicable state.
  • Juris doctorate from a top-tier US law school.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (sense of humor is a big plus).
  • International experience a plus.

Our Compensation and Benefits (for Colorado residents only)

• Base Compensation Range: $84,550 - $207,585

In accordance with Colorado law, the range provided is The Trade Desk’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. The Trade Desk also offers a competitive benefits package.
