Job Summary 

RealSimple.com is looking for a hardworking Lifestyle Editor to produce smart, engaging, digital-first lifestyle content across Real Simple’s platforms. The primary function of this role will be to pitch, write, assign, and edit traffic-driving lifestyle content covering Health (with a focus on nutrition and sleep), Home, Food, and Beauty. The Lifestyle Editor will report to the Associate Editorial Director and will work collaboratively with the social, commerce, newsletter, video, and sales teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SEO best practices and is adept at writing both quick news stories and thoroughly reported pieces. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Pitch, write or assign, build, and edit evergreen Lifestyle content for RealSimple.com.
  • Pitch and write timely News stories covering the latest nutrition health studies, home industry news, and seasonal trends.
  • Update existing content on RealSimple.com following the latest SEO best practices.
  • Use analytics to track performance and inform future stories, 
  • Work on editorial sponsored content as needed. 
  • Participate in cross-platform videos as needed. 

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements|

Experience :

3+ years of experience writing and editing, preferably within digital media 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough understanding of SEO best practices. 
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms and keyword research tools (such as Google Analytics and Semrush), as well as content management systems.
  • Proven ability to make data-informed content decisions.
  • Proactive time management skills and a flexible approach to shifting priorities.
  • An understanding of Real Simple’s practical, problem-solving approach to Lifestyle content.
