Kinnek is the champion for small businesses. Our mission is to build a single platform for small businesses that makes discovering, transacting and interacting with suppliers more powerful, more trustworthy and easier than ever before.

Over the past few years, we've started down this path by building out our marketplace- the first B2B marketplace that connects SMBs (small and medium businesses) with suppliers of equipment, machinery, bulk supplies- really anything they need for their business that can't be easily found on the likes of Amazon or eBay.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Writer to pitch, research, and write in-depth, long-form content like news articles, guides, and research reports, as well as contribute to our blog and social media presence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in academic, journalistic, or business writing. He or she will be responsible for delivering high-quality, publishable content that will contribute to our brand voice and position as an expert, leader, and advocate for small business and their industry verticals.

Responsibilities:

• Write and report informative articles and news stories for Kinnek small business customers. Articles will cover small businesses primarily in the food and beverage sector (craft breweries, distilleries and winemakers)
• Cover news pieces on topics such as:
• Market trends, using data from both Kinnek and external sources
• Guides to help small businesses with their equipment purchasing
• Profiles/case studies on how small businesses solved a particular problem
• Interviews with small business owners translating their experience to editorial content
• Deal news between notable small business buyers and suppliers

Requirements:

• Journalism background
• Solid grasp of core SEO best practice for written content
• B2B content marketing experience preferred
• Background in business journalism/writing preferred
• Ability to understand data and synthesize information into readable content
• Familiarity with CMS systems such as Wordpress, Django and blogging tools
• Social media, PR, video-editing skills is a plus
