June Homes is seeking a Creative Copywriter who will manage and drive our social strategy here in our headquarters in Manhattan, NYC. This candidate will be insights-led, with the demonstrated ability to storytell and activate brand opportunities within the social space in new and unique ways. The ideal candidate has an innate understanding of best practices, platform features and emerging technologies. This person should have a love for all things trending, with a specialized interest in memes, hashtags, social activations, community, data, and most importantly— all things social media. They should have a creative eye and be able to create and source content that is visually appealing and engaging.

You’ll also be leading the copy effort with our team, working with our Director of Marketing and Design Director to build upon the June Homes brand voice. You’ll help spread our message on a range of platforms while writing out of home marketing, email marketing, social media, subway ads, scripts, and more.
Versatility and tenacity are must-haves. Additionally, since the quality of our content helps build trust between us and our customers, you’ll need a keen editor’s eye, whether acquired through one of the degrees above or at work.
 

What you'll do:

Content Creation: 

  • Create smart, unique content meant to spark conversations from our community including our customers, fans and like-minded brands (Currently, we generate on average 27-30 pieces of content per week on Instagram. This breaks down to 7 IG post and 20-24 IG Stories)
  • Craft engaging and creative content for email marketing 

Platform Management & Strategic Direction:

  • Engage our followers by managing, producing, and ideating new creative concepts for our social media content, primarily on Instagram and Facebook (with suggestions for the next platforms to come from you)
  • Follow strategic hashtags, engage with posts related to them, and comment with the intent to continue dialogue around brand value.
  • Tap into community feedback and consumer trends to plan, create and launch social content campaigns, activations and initiatives
  • Constantly innovate and think about how we can be ahead of the curve in offering a cutting edge social media experience
  • Leverage our data to track, measure and report on various social metrics such as growth and engagement to guide overall social platform strategy

Brand Partnerships: 

  • Manage existing and source new influencer relationships to execute strategic partnerships that align with our brand values 
  • Manage strategic brand partnerships and alignments including promoting them on social and to our members 
  • ​​​​​​​Maintain an awareness of what’s going on in the online social space, with a special focus in lifestyle, home decor, and travel

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with content related to relevant hashtags. This includes blocking off 10-15 minutes to have meaningful comments on Instagram posts of related hashtags.
  • Research and tag content of businesses, city entities related to post to increase reach
  • Define core hashtags to follow and engage (ie, Micro - under 50K, Small - 50K-100K, Medium - 100K-1M, and Large - 1M+)

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has 3-5 years experience working with social media platforms either freelancing or at a brand or agency known in the social media or creative space
  • Experience working as a writer / copywriter in an agency or startup environment
  • ​​​​​​​Graphic design, photo and video editing experience 
  • Highly proficient in the adobe creative suite 
  • Live and breathe social—being familiar and comfortable with creating content and engaging with people and brands particularly on Instagram and Facebook
  • Proficiency crafting creative, unexpected, customer-driven content that unites brand storytelling with community driven initiatives
  • You are excited to engage with our community and deeply understand how content constantly evolves on leading platforms
  • Are witty, obsessed with trends and culture, and can start a conversation with anyone
  • Ability to drive performance against sets of measurable KPIs – identifying areas of opportunity and trends when benchmarking performance or pitching new ideas
  • Enjoy being a creative problem solver, with the ability to thrive working in a fast-paced and energetic environment
  • Friendly and patient
  • Never satisfied with the status quo, always thinking "how can we do this better?"
  • Someone who is engaged and excited about the business and willing to put in the time to help our brand grow!
  • ​​​​​​​Degree in English Literature, Creative Writing, or Journalism.
