Slice was born in 2010 and has quietly bootstrapped its way to building a network of more than 8,000 pizzerias nationwide. Ilir Sela, our founder and CEO, started the company as a passion project to help his friends and family in the pizza business, but he quickly saw a massive opportunity to champion these small businesses by bringing their bites to the masses. We are looking for seasoned Creative Director and certified pizza lover to help us make Slice the preferred national brand for ordering local pizza. Pizza is inarguably the best food on the planet, and our Creative Director will help Slice infuse joy into the experience end to end. This is a strategic role for the organization and requires someone who is not only passionate about pizza, but also experienced with both design and content leadership. You will have a big hand in shaping the Slice brand and creating large-scale programs all around something as fun as pizza – so some would say you get to have your pie and eat it too. To be successful in this role, you must understand the intersection between storytelling and cultural relevance and be able to build a holistic creative strategy. Your creative strategy will touch every single brand experience touchpoint,  so you’ll need to work excellently with key stakeholders across the company – you have the power to inspire us all to be our best!

This role will directly manage the creative design team (1 senior art director, 2 designers, 2-3 contractors, 1 copywriter) while collaborating and supporting the other marketing team stakeholders (Social Media, B2B Marketing, Acquisition, & Retention). You’ll also get the chance to work across the aisle with Product, Restaurant, and our Menu Team to build a culturally defining experience and preferred destination for consumers and shops, alike. We will look to you to “step” into others’ key areas, education, convince and be overly collaborative to be effective in the development of a high awareness and high regarded brand!

What you'll do:

• Develop an industry defining, own-able creative (design & content) strategy at the highest level that permeates throughout every touchpoint consumers and shops have with the brand. This strategy will ground us as the pizza experts; using strategic storytelling, asset collection, design and content creation as ways to drive brand preference.
• Drive the creative vision for all comms (email, collateral, advertising, social, blog, etc) and partner with product to bring our content to life and maximize its effectiveness
• Oversee creative design and copywriting by leading a highly experienced, entrepreneurial team
• Work with the channel marketers to define and differentiate all creative developed
• Create high-quality, relevant creative around important, relevant and brand defining moments
• Showcase the success of all experiences created and designed by the teams

What we are looking for:

• +10 years experience in a creative leadership role for consumer-facing product
• Exceptional design skills with a portfolio showcasing your work
• Excellent presentation and communication skills – consider yourself a mediation master
• Experience in UX, product, marketing, and branding
• Experience performing or managing a range of creative positions, such as graphic designer, art director and copywriter, is important – you can bring it all to the table
• Strong understanding of industry trends and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to provide clear creative direction and constructive feedback
• Ability to set deadlines and project management various projects at one time
• Ability to work across the organization & with Sr. Leadership team
