Director, Brand and Marketing Communications

You will own the development and execution of Newsela’s brand and marketing communications strategy. In addition, you will work closely with Product Marketing on thought leadership content development. Reporting directly to the CMO, you will serve as a core member of the marketing organization and collaborate across Newsela on brand ambassadorship, PR, social media, and thought leadership.
Responsibilities
- Assess Newsela’s current brand platform and recommend changes to brand platform, attributes, tone of voice, and visual identity in order to support the company’s desired market positioning and next wave of growth.
- Execute the recommended changes to Newsela’s brand, and provide ongoing brand management support to the company.
- Build and execute the company’s external marketing communications (PR) and social media strategy and plan.
- Collaborate closely with Product Marketing and Demand Generation teams to determine and help build thought leadership content that will help position Newsela as a trusted business partner to administrators and educators.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years experience in corporate marketing, branding and communications in a B2B or public sector capacity.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence across teams
- Ability to deliver results in a dynamic, high-growth environment
- Flexibility to quickly adapt and change strategy to align with business needs
