Healthcare is hard. At Oscar, we’re here to make it easier. Our team includes people from a broad range of backgrounds who have joined Oscar to make a frustrating system more accessible, transparent, and human. Oscar is an industry leader when it comes to redefining the experience in healthcare, and product marketing is a core stakeholder in shaping what that experience is. We’re building from the ground up, and refining to the point of perfection.

As the Director of Consumer Product Marketing, you will lead our Product Marketing Division and define Oscar’s engagement strategy with 3 of our key audiences: members, business administrators, and healthcare providers. Each audience has a team of innovative product marketing managers that you will help guide to build best-in-class experiences. You will partner with product managers, engineers, designers, data scientists, service teams, sales, and healthcare experts to understand, improve, and optimize the experience for our communities.

What is the position?

  • Lead 3 product marketing teams with an eye towards cohesive organization management, processes, and goals.

  • Build best-in-class onboarding, engagement, and retention programs that include measurable goals and outcomes.

  • Guide the development, evolution, documentation, and adherence of Oscar’s value proposition for our 3 key audiences.

  • Manage distinct launch timelines, resourcing needs, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Track and influence the improvement of our product adoption and engagement metrics across our audiences, including NPS.

  • Become an expert on the nuances of our audiences, and partner with consumer insights and other stakeholders to craft research projects.

  • Work cross-functionally to help inform prioritization decisions, roadmaps, and trade-offs.

  • Take projects from idea through to completion.

In your first 90 days, you will:

  • Understand our existing and potential customers (individuals, business administrators and providers), the competitive landscape, and our value proposition.

  • Understand our company goals and how we define the scope of Product Marketing’s work to help deliver on the goals.

  • Understand the organizational tools in place to manage the Product Marketing Division; including the roadmap process, software and tools, launch calendars, and progress check-ins.

  • Partner with Growth Marketing & Acquisition to better understand their work managing our Go To Market planning.

Who are you?

  • This is a senior role. You should have 8+ years experience in marketing digital consumer and/or B2B products with a strong understanding of reaching, acquiring, and retaining customers.

  • Proven ability with developing, organizing and managing teams.

  • Exceptional analytical skills and deep experience with A/B testing and optimization.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Analytical and data-driven.

  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders.

  • Proactive, strategic, implementation-focused, and ready to roll up your sleeves and make an impact.

  • Experience making tough trade-off and prioritization decisions.

Above all else:

  • Friendly, thoughtful, and kind.

  • Humility, maturity, and lack of ego.

  • Always an open mind, but ready with a point of view.
