Attentive is looking for an ambitious and collaborative Director of Event Marketing to join our team. This role will be responsible for setting the strategy and overseeing the execution of our presence at conferences, proprietary events, and industry partner events. The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate a blend of creative and strategic aptitude, and has past experience growing event marketing into a powerful revenue-driving channel in a B2B setting. 

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Partner with the VP of Marketing, Sales leadership, and executives in evaluating and recommending potential event opportunities (including industry conferences, partner co-marketing events, regional roadshows, and our proprietary client summits) and defining our comprehensive strategy. Establish relationships with external event organizer teams and negotiate sponsorship agreements.
  • Production: Produce events from concept through execution, working collaboratively with the extended marketing team, sales team, executives, design, partnerships. 
  • Promotion: Develop a comprehensive internal & external promotion plan that maximizes awareness, secure in-person meetings for net-new lead generation, and drives revenue pipeline impact for each event. 
  • Content: Work closely with our team leadership, clients, and partners on coordination of speaking spots and press opportunities at events. Develop abstracts, presentation material and notes for speaking opportunities in collaboration with other members of the marketing team. 
  • Measurement: Partner with Sales team on post-event lead tracking and follow up. Consistently track the ROI effectiveness of each event marketing activity (leads generated, deals influenced, deals closed, cost per lead, etc.)
  • Operations: Oversee the event marketing budget, working closely with the Marketing Operations Manager. 

Skills & Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years B2B event marketing experience
  • 2+ years people management experienceGenuine interest in marketing technology
  • Experience executing a diverse portfolio and high volume of events across conference/tradeshow sponsorships, regional field events and user conferences. 
  • Team player with a “do-er” mentality who is excited to contribute more than strategy to the team
  • Clear, concise communicator with excellent writing skills
  • Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Past startup experience a plus
  • Availability to travel approximately once per month
