LOCATION: New York City or Los Angeles
REPORTS TO: Venture Partner

Your Opportunity
As the Head of Corporate Communications, you will be the leader and executor of our communication and media strategy. You’ll work with both the team at Greycroft and the entrepreneurs we back. You will drive awareness and perception for our firm and for the founders and investments across our portfolio. In this highly dynamic role, you’ll have the opportunity to impact strategic communication initiatives across a broad range of companies, from newly formed seed stage startups to more scaled growth companies. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced communications leader to flex into many areas, move quickly, and help companies shape and execute their communication strategies at an early and critical stage. You will be a partner to entrepreneurs changing the world.

Responsibilities
Your scope will span a range of industry sectors, company stages, and geographies.

Specific accountabilities include:
• Develop and execute Greycroft’s communications strategy and plan
• Directly advise and help portfolio companies develop communications capabilities and plans
• Drive significant awareness of Greycroft and its portfolio companies through proactive story placement in targeted media outlets
• Identify key milestones and other news making opportunities and determine strategies to elevate them
• Oversee thought leadership content and campaigns including placing partner profiles, bylines, and high-level speaker placements
• Develop and execute Greycroft’s content strategy, including having the firm and/or firm personnel periodically publish written content, videos and/or podcasts
• Develop strong and trusted relationships with the firm’s partners and act as counsel for PR related manners
• Prep firm leaders and portfolio company executives for media interviews and speaking opportunities
• Produce and write key messages, press releases, one pagers, presentations/keynotes, Q&As, case studies, thought leadership pieces, bylined articles, executive briefing materials, and other communications assets for the firm
• Act as an effective firm spokesperson with press Greycroft
• Oversee website and social media strategy and partner on content updates and execution with internal team • Conduct ad hoc projects to drive business growth
• Measure impact of PR efforts and earned media
• Periodic travel between firm offices and directly meeting with portfolio companies and key media

Qualifications
• 10+ years of overall corporate communications experience, combination of in-house and PR firm
• 5+ years of experience in a fast-growing technology company or technology-centric division
• Experience working with start-ups and a passion for building businesses
• Strong roster of relationships with the business and financial media
• Proven ability to cultivate partnerships with key executives and act as counsel in corporate PR matters • Stellar writer, editor, and curator of voice and tone across the portfolio • Expertise across messaging, positioning, media relations and influencer strategies • A natural affinity for technology, content, and social media
• Demonstrated track record of helping a business grow mindshare with media and investors
• Results-driven with bias for action and commitment to excellence. Self-directed and engages in all activities with sense of urgency.

• Thrives in fast-paced and unstructured environment of constant change
• Positive, resilient and open to candid feedback. Strong executive presence.
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Articulates concepts clearly and succinctly
• Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products

Education: 4-year BA/BS degree
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Compensation: Commensurate with experience
