About Your Role:
Are you a media/technology entrepreneur with a vision for the future of cryptocurrency? Are you looking for a large media platform to help accelerate that future? We are seeking a business leader to take on this challenge as the Head of Cryptocurrency.
As the Head of Cryptocurrency on the Performance Marketing Team, you will lead Dotdash's efforts in the DeFi/crypto space, responsible for ideating and executing the strategy across multiple Dotdash properties. You will manage the existing affiliate marketing revenue business and be tasked with developing our strategy to grow from here. This is a highly-matrixed role, with the opportunity to direct product, engineering, editorial, business development, and marketing approaches as you build buy-in and momentum for your roadmap. As the primary owner of the crypto vertical, you will remain up to date on business performance and health, and communicate regularly to senior management. In this role, reporting to the Chief Commercial Marketing Officer, you'll be a crucial part of the growth and overall success of the Performance Marketing Team and Dotdash as a whole.
About Your Contributions:
- Lead and grow the cryptocurrency business at Dotdash, including revenue ownership across brands and products; manage the existing affiliate marketing business
- Partner with editorial, product, engineering, business development, and marketing to achieve ambitious growth goals
- Develop and champion a long-term cryptocurrency strategy for Dotdash, toward the goal of guiding our users through a complex new ecosystem; present strategy to senior management and secure project funding and buy-in for the roadmap
- Collaborate across Dotdash brands (Investopedia, The Balance, etc.) to bring cryptocurrency tools, recommendations, and education to users of our sites
- Master the competitive landscape, the user base, the industry trends, and the product/market fit
- Develop and expand your professional network among cryptocurrency ecosystem players; develop partnerships and discover opportunities that inform and accelerate our efforts
- See around the corner, separating fads and scams from material developments that inform our strategy to position Dotdash as a market leader
About You:
- 4-7 years online marketing, entrepreneurship, or product development experience
- 1-2 years of experience in the DeFi/crypto space
- Track record of successfully presenting ambitious proposals to senior business leadership
- Familiarity with affiliate marketing and lead generation
- Experience working across multiple departments in a matrix organization; ability to marshall disparate teams toward a unified mission
- Able to manage multiple projects and campaigns with conflicting priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Must be a self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision to initiate and complete tasks; ideal candidate has a mix of experience in startups/new divisions, as well as larger tech/media companies
