Ro is looking for a Marketing Director to be a key leader in growing our Roman business to radically improve the lives of men. This role will develop powerful integrated marketing programs that establish Roman as the industry leader in men’s digital healthcare—fueling brand awareness, achieving performance KPI’s, and capturing the attention and trust of our patients.

Who are you? Great question. You are a strategic marketing leader who is passionate about thinking and acting consumer-first and you have deep empathy for patients living with conditions that impact their daily life. You know how to turn insights into action, have a keen eye for a great creative concept, and understand how to pull that through a variety of channels. You positively influence brands by living and breathing what matters most to their audiences.

How do you do your best work? You’ve managed and/or been part of marketing teams in fast-paced environments, have led winning marketing strategies across the entire customer journey, and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the work to bring something magical to market. You have worked closely with partners on paid marketing and consumer insights, and understand how to translate those insights to influence large-scale, integrated campaigns. You balance creativity and performance in a way that pushes working teams to deliver magical consumer experiences.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end development of the Annual Marketing Plan, collaborating with Insights, growth, and business operations to shape Roman’s strategic roadmap.
  • Partner with the consumer insights and data science teams to develop an ongoing learning plan for the Roman business that guides campaign planning and messaging throughout the year.
  • Develop and maintain the yearly integrated Marketing calendar. Own the Roman marketing and production budget, working closely with your counterparts on Growth and Creative. Ensure projects stay within allocated spend.
  • Leverage sports sponsorships (ie: Major League Baseball) to drive integrated marketing programs and activations across social, retail, and beyond. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities with sports properties or complementary brands.
  • Live and breathe macro and micro trends in men’s healthcare, wellness, and lifestyle space—identifying key partnerships that will help deliver against brand goals.
  • Work with creative partners to connect the powerful stories that emerge from our patients to our wider Ro brand strategies and activations.
  • Liaise with partners from legal, medical, marketing, and growth to develop advertising claims that are enticing while ensuring that all marketing assets are legally, ethnically, and medically sound.
  • Nurture post-launch performance—reporting on KPI’s and adjusting strategy in real-time as needed.
  • Oversee relationships with external agencies and develop creative briefs for internal and external partners to inform best-in-class creative and marketing execution.
  • Work cross-functionally on a dedicated team alongside Growth Marketing, Product, Design, Data, and Clinical to develop signature Roman experiences across the offering from the landing pages to the online-visit messaging and beyond.

What you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing or brand marketing strategy across channels for nationally recognized consumer brands (DTC or eCommerce is a plus).
  • Digital expertise in building marketing plans and strategic content to support condition launches, brand awareness, customer acquisition, demand generation, events, etc.
  • 5+ years of leadership and people management experience.
  • Storytelling prowess–you understand how to connect with the consumer in a way that gets them to take action.
  • Strong analytical and data skills required and experience working with business reporting tools in a data-driven environment.
  • A roster of experienced freelancers to call on, as needed.
  • Motivated self-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-moving, ever-changing, results-driven environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills and communications abilities at all levels, both internally and externally to partners and other 3rd parties.
  • Willingness to jump in, as needed, to execute against time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to mobilize teams to drive cross-functional collaboration
  • An outstanding portfolio that showcases your expertise and fit for this role.
  • A creative eye with a track record of helping produce fresh and exciting work that also performs.

At Ro, we believe that our diverse perspectives are our biggest strengths — and that embracing them will create real change in healthcare. As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to building an inclusive environment where you can be you.
